ECO3 makes the versatile production of renewable energy and biofuels possible. We already produce biogas – and industrial, wood-based and wastewater treatment by-products from local companies can be used to produce heat and biofuels. We perform pilots and demonstrations related to these activities.
The area is home to Pirkanmaan Jätehuolto Oy’s new biogas plant Biomylly, which will start operating in 2023. The amount of methane generated by the facility is estimated to be the equivalent of 2.5 million litres of liquid transport fuels yearly.
